End-of-Summer News: Your August Update

As summer draws to a close, things are still heating up around DeKalb County! We have several exciting updates since our last newsletter:

Ribbon Cuttings:

We’ve recently celebrated two significant openings. We kicked off with British Bites, a new bakery in Waterloo specializing in British pastries. We also marked the grand opening of Taylor Rentals new location. This beloved business has been a community staple for 47 years, since October 1977, and it was wonderful to see such strong support from everyone.

Young Professionals Financial Literacy Course:

The Young Professionals of DeKalb County have completed the first session of their free Financial Literacy course in partnership with Oaks Partners. The next class, focusing on budgeting, is scheduled for October 9th. Stay tuned for more details! > RSVP

The Prism Conversations - Women’s Luncheon:

We recently hosted this event with 25 women from the DeKalb community. The valuable insights gathered will help shape the future of the Prism Initiative, which will oversee all women’s programming through the DeKalb Chamber Partnership.

Upcoming Networking Event:

Join us on Thursday, the 29th, at the historic train depot in Waterloo for a casual meet & mingle with mock-tails. We look forward to seeing you there!

Auburn Cord Duesenberg Festival:

The festival is just around the corner! Kick off the festivities tonight from 5-8:30 PM at 9th Street Brew’s Pre-Festival Block Party.

That’s all for this week’s newsletter. Have a fantastic weekend!

Wishing you the best,

The Staff of DeKalb Chamber Partnership
